A classic enjoyed during harvest. Apparently the only thing little Boss included in his cookbook for Great Gran.
Ingredients
- 4 round steaks
- 2 carrots (chopped)
- 2 celery stalks (chopped)
- ½ onion (chopped)
- 1 can stewed tomatoes
- 1–2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- beef broth (or water)
- flour with favorite seasonings
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Coat the steaks evenly with the seasoned flour.
- Add the steaks to a ripping hot pan and brown on each side in olive oil (about 5 minute each side).
- Place in a Pyrex® dish.
- Mix the fresh vegetables together and pour over the steaks.
- Stir tomatoes and soup together and pour on steaks/veggies.
- Add a little water or beef broth.
- Cover with foil and bake about for about and hour.
- Note: Boss likes to brown the steak in a cast iron skillet then transfer it to the oven.
